I’m waiting for this first day of Spring ever since lást Spring. And here it is today, not really accompanied with abundant sunshine and a little warmth but I’ll keep the faith! Somebody has to.
Enforce it by filling your house with white flowers, works for me all the time.
Annie’s Flowers
For over 25 years I buy my flowers at ‘Annie’s’ Flowerstall at the Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam. Especially on Saturdays because of the weekly bio farmer’s market. Annie knows here neighbourhood stuff and brings me up to date of the latest.
Today I bought a pack of ranunculus (10 €) and 2 bunches of tulips (5 €). At the farmer’s market I added some willow with silver long catkins (1,50 €).
Decoration
Today I created a little corner by putting different glass vases together and filled each one with only one style of flowers. The white (!) painting you see behind the couch is by Dutch artist Aico Dinkla. He used to be a fashion designer and created dresses from silicon coated fabric. In a transformative process he decided to cut his couture into tiny pieces and make the former garments into an abstract piece of art.
White outfit
What also helps to enforce Spring, is wearing white. Today I wear skinnies, white cashmere sweater (I have a cashmere weak spot, will blog about that another time) and white Adidas Stan Smith sneakers. You see, I do everything I can to hold on this new season’s feeling. Let nature do the rest.
