Dries van Noten shows flamboyant collection in Paris

Dries van Noten SS16 show PFW

Vivacious, Jubilant and Flirtatious are just a few words how Dries van Noten describes his Spring|Summer 2016 show.
I immediately fell in love  when I saw the first images from Paris Fashion Week – unfortunately not from the front row, but on Instagram and – pop up on my screen.
The Belgian designer, who is not afraid of combining a multitude of fabrics, prints and applications in one outfit, showed a wonderful and amazing collection inspired  on the 1940’s.

“My collection SS16? Flamboyant, bold, impulsive, vivacious, observant, infatuated,  jubilant, kinky,  fearless and  flirtatious”. – Dries van Noten

Underwear is the big Dries van Noten theme next season

This Dries van Noten collection is definitely for flamboyant women who enjoy to stand out and are not afraid of mix ‘n match. But it’s not just that: this collection can make any woman want to become flamboyant.
Sparkling bra tops, romantic ruffles, pleatings and frilled tulle combined with oversized suiting,  pane prints and high-waist trousers. And those colours! Clashing teal with mustard, purple with hot pink, orange with gold, the variations are endless. It sure is a stunning and harmonic explosion of magnificent colors and details.

Eye catcher: tattoo sleeves & blue eyes

I’ve never seen such beautiful semi sheer tattoo sleeves before. This will be the must have accessory of SS 2016.
My favorite model Sylvia van der Klooster starred the catwalk in a pink and very oversized jacket. The models wore chunky platforms and cat eye sunglasses to finish the look.
The make up is soft, pure and natural, with only the accent on the eye. A bright blue glittering eyeliner is the finishing-make-up-touch. It combines perfectly with the eccentric and flirtatious clothes.
Dries van Noten, born into a family of garment makers and traders, has surpassed himself again. Flamboyant is the new black for SS16.   |AW
