Attention Female Entrepreneurs! Cartier opens the call for applications for the upcoming Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards. It is the 10 year anniversary this year that French luxury brand Cartier is deeply committed to support female entrepreneurial and change-driving initiatives from around the world.
Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards
The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards is an international business plan competition created in 2006 by Cartier, the Women’s Forum, McKinsey & Company and INSEAD business school to identify, support and encourage projects by women entrepreneurs.
The contest is intended for creative start-ups that are financially viable and socially responsible, run by women off all nationalities and from all sectors.
Every year, the jury awards a female entrepreneur during the Women’s Forum in Deauville, France. From each of six regions: Latin America, North America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East & North Africa and Asia-Pacific one women is awarded.
Criteria Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards
To apply for this award your company must be an original for-profit business creation in its first phase (2 to 3 years old) led by a woman. It must be a new concept, conceived and imagined by the founder and her team. Not a copy or subsidiary of an existing business.
The ‘first phase’ requirement means that the project you submit should be in the first stages of its development with at least two years of operations and sales to account for (incorporated between August 2013 and August 2014).

Reward Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards
Based on the quality of the plan and the persuasiveness of the verbal presentation, one Laureate for each of the six regions is selected and receives the reward. A unique and comprehensive support package: US $ 20 000 of funding, one year of coaching, networking opportunities and media exposure.
Ten years on, the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards has become synonymous with supporting creative female excellence around the world, as more than 160 entrepreneurs from 45 countries have experienced first-hand.
