Summer is finally around the corner which means warmth, sun and therefore SPF’s. Under fifty? Keep reading because you can’t start young enough with protecting your skin. That’s a lesson learned from experience. By now we all know that the vital anti-aging foundation lies in the SPF’s. As in Sun Protection Factor. I’m using SPF 50+ on my face and hands for over 10 years now (before this it was SPF 20 or 30), every single day. Come rain or shine.

The Portuguese pharmacies – as are the French ones – are stocked with nearly everything you need to keep your skin and body in shape. I’ll admit it, I am a little obsessed with all the goodies on display here. My favorite sunscreen brand I use when I’m in Portugal is La Roche-Posay. I use the SPF products from the Anthelios line. Finishing SPF 50+ touch

For the legs I use the ultra light invisible mist spray, also handy when there is no one around to do your back. Or wants to do your back. Recently – thanks to a gift from D. – I discovered the Anthelios XL SPF 50+ compact cream, I carry this (not so pretty) box around in my purse and apply whenever I  feel the need to mattify, conceal or extra protect. Is there a downside to all this? Yes, they just introduced SPF 60+…
